Shannyn Hyland - Director of Communication

I joined Team Fox Detroit in 2017, just a few months after the inaugural Gala. As the team grew rapidly, I had the privilege of assisting Donna with organizing, communicating, and marketing upcoming events. In those early months and years, I learned so much about Parkinson’s Disease, and I was, and still am, honored to be a part of such an incredible organization. Together, we’ve hosted countless events, both large and small, and each one continues to inspire me.

It has been truly awe-inspiring to connect with so many incredible people, especially the amazing women of Team Fox Detroit. One of my favorite quotes, especially in challenging times, is Fred Rogers’ “Look for the helpers.” In the toughest moments—whether facing the realities of a disease that takes so much from so many or working to raise awareness—I know I can look across the table at our committee meetings and see the helpers surrounding me.

I’m excited to continue fighting against Parkinson’s alongside our Team Fox Detroit family!
