I have always had a passion to give back and make a change in our community.  When I first met Donna, I was surprised about her Parkinson’s diagnosis. She did not fit the normal mold for a Parkinson’s patient. After further education about Parkinson’s, I realized that this is not a disease that only attacks the elderly.  I was inspired by her and my love of our friendship and this led me to join Team Fox Detroit. As the team grew, we became a small group on a big mission to make a change in the way people see Parkinson’s and to find a cure. It was very exciting to me to be part of this adventure and to see the passion in our group as we created fundraising events and awareness throughout the year. Throughout my life, I have come to realize that giving back and making changes is the most important step you can take in the world.  Often times as human beings we get caught up in our small bubbles and we convince ourselves that we are the only ones that experience hardship.  In celebrating this month of honoring powerful women who make change in the world I would like to challenge everyone out there, women and men to take the time and reflect on how you can make a difference in the world today.
