2017 Gala

On behalf of Team Fox Detroit and The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, thank you for your donation and support of our September 9th Gala.

Since the Foundation opened their doors, they have worked tirelessly to realize the unmet needs of the estimated five million people living with Parkinson’s today – improved symptomatic treatments and ultimately, a cure. They are energized by progress in the field, and won’t stop until a cure is found and they close their doors. Your trust in their dedication to efficiency: 89 cents of every dollar they spend organization-wide goes directly to research programs.

By supporting Team Fox Detroit, you are helping drive even greater advancements: Thanks to an anonymous donor, 100% of our proceeds are directed to research efforts.

The generosity that this community has shown our team has more than exceeded any expectations we had when we first started Team Fox Detroit. You make us proud to be from Metro- Detroit and ecstatic that we have such amazing neighbors across the border! Your donations helped raise over $200,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Because of you we are one step closer to making Parkinson’s a disease of the past!

A “FOX” in the spirit world, represents charm and magical allure. They are wise with an unmistakable affinity towards situational awareness. A fox represents pride, ambition, cleverness, and quick-thinking. It is a cunning and resourceful problem-solver that exhibits responsiveness and flexibility during particularly challenging and unpredictable changes.
In ancient cultures, Shamans would bestow a Fox Totem to those venturing into vast and unknown territories to provide
them with “Luck” of an extraordinary degree.
May this “Lucky Fox” endow its owner with the spirit of this adaptive and cunning problem-solver.

the band nuclassica playing

We were thrilled to have Nuclassica to preform their Electro-Pop show during dinner. Jordan Allen Broder, an accomplished violinist, has quickly established a reputation for his support and promotion of the arts. Completing a formal education in music performance, production and artist management, Mr. Broder has worked with a diverse roster of classical, jazz and contemporary talent that includes the International Chamber Soloists, rock-sensation Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Jazz at Lincoln Center and prize-winners of “Miss Michigan” and “Miss America.”

Thank you Jordan for making a special appearance – it really meant a lot to me to see you on stage! Check out the website Here!

We are so excited to have the musical stylings of the Bluewater Kings Band to dance the night away!

Donna Rajkovic

Founder & President

Donna founded Team Fox Detroit in 2016, a 501c(3) public charity dedicated to supporting the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. She became President in 2018 when the charity she founded received its official IRS designation. She was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s disease in 2012 and has been enrolled in the Parkinson’s Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) research study at the Cleveland Clinic for seven years. The PPMI study is dedicated to finding a biomarker for Parkinson’s disease which would make it easier to diagnose and target new medications to stop disease progression. She is also enrolled in Fox Insight, an online clinical study where people with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones share information that could transform the search for better treatments.

In addition to leading Team Fox Detroit, Donna serves as President of Serbian Sisters Ravanica whose primary function is to raise money to support children’s activities in the St. Lazarus Parish as well as other Orthodox charities in the Detroit metropolitan area. She also serves as Second Vice President of The Executive Board of St. Lazarus Ravanica Serbian Orthodox Church in Detroit, Michigan.

Donna is committed to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through funding research. She lives in Novi, MI with her husband Mike and their three sons, Stevan, Daniel, and Alan.
